Who studies for a degree in aeronautical engineering, then starts a business as a storyteller? Too tall a tale you might say, but that is exactly what Chinyere Nwobani did. Chinyere started Chi Creative Stories to ensure that the old Afrikan tradition that puts storytelling at the root and heart of African Heritage did not disappear forever. She believes that many people neglect the importance of “story” to nurture their spiritual strength, form their thoughts, paint their visions and focus the creative mind to achieve their goals. She cites her own experience when working with young people, who find it strange to hear that the storyteller has aeronautical engineering degree. She use this to demonstrate that anything is possible, and that drama is not solely for becoming an actor, but also develops presentation skills.Chinyere has developed an innovative, new curriculum called: The Storytellers Journey, which is an exciting, self-expressive learning program designed to deliver educational, personal and professional development for young people aged 6 to 16 years, professionals and adults of all ages. Chinyere says: “Head for Business has enabled me organise my ideas into bite size, step-by-step action plans. When I get lost, or I’m not sure which way to go, I refer to the road map they helped me develop and I am back on track.” |
